Sport: Track & Field
Meet after meet, Tyrell continues to set personal records! He has PR’d in every event he has entered in his first year in Track and Field. He continues to improve his distance with the javelin and helps his relay team win over larger schools every meet. As a student, Tyrell also sets the bar high for achievement. He is one of the top scorers in Math and participates thoughtfully in all his classes. Tyrell is a huge asset to TYG and we are glad he is on our team!

Trevyn again threw his best this past weekend in Shiprock and took first place for both shot put and discus. He is improving week after week and we are looking forward to seeing him throw at State next month. Trevyn’s positive attitude motivates those around him to also do their best.

Paitience took first place in Girl’s Shot Put at the Jemez Meet, out distancing 18 other girls with a 25-05.05 throw. She also took fourth in the javelin throw. Paitience works tirelessly to improve and her efforts paid off! She is a straight A student and excels in the classroom.

Andrew works hard and plays harder. He always plays his best in every game and listens to the coach to get better. As a three-sport athlete, Andrew balances academics and athletics with ease and diligence. Andrew encourages his teammates to excel and meet expectations. He is an asset to each sport he plays.

Amellia is in her final year of sports and has put forth tremendous effort to improve. Her positive attitude both on and off the court exemplifies sportsmanship and teamwork. She is always willing to help teammates and coaches. As a senior, she is a three-sport athlete and does her best in every sport.

Marshall Chaco (12th Grade)
Varsity Basketball
Marshall is one of the point leaders for Tse’ Yi’ Gai. He is quick down the court and frequently has uncontested baskets. His daily attendance is exemplary and he has made tremendous effort getting back on track for graduation as a transfer student.


Tse Yi Gai High School recently had the honor of hosting district leaders for an immersive site visit, shining a spotlight on their dynamic School of Engineering! Students eagerly shared their experiences, speaking with enthusiasm about their chosen pathways and the incredible skills they’ve gained. Their confidence, passion, and vision for the future were nothing short of inspiring—truly a testament to the impact of these programs!

Blurb: In a nail-biting overtime against Shiprock Northwest on 2/4/25, Trevyn grabbed a rebound and hit the game winning shot, securing the win for Tse’ Yi’ Gai. Cheese always goes above and beyond to give it his all in every game. He is a mentor to younger players and helps coach them up to reach their potential on the court. He has had perfect attendance this year and strives for academic excellence. His positive, never-give-up attitude encourages everyone around him.
